Focus group results
The focus group discussion was divided into 3 main topics. These
topics became the themes. Within each theme reoccurring concepts
were identified. It was found that one of the major themes was Drury
Dining Facebook Engagement. Under the theme, there
were reoccurring concepts: Low Engagement, Lack of Knowledge, and
Lack of Personal reflection of the Drury Commons on the page. All
of these reoccurring concepts are what form the relationships between
all our themes.
After the focus group discussion, it is concluded that the lack of
knowledge, use and personality of the Drury Dining page is attributed
to its low engagement. One of the participants in the focus group had
mentioned “I use Facebook for family”. This sentiment was then
expressed by others in the focus group then supported by the survey
results.
The final topic was the idea of alternative social media platform.
The idea that Facebook was used for personal reasons and the type of
content students are wanting was informational is what motivated the
idea of a different multimedia platform.

In the word cloud on the right, the words: like, Facebook, Menus are
three of the largest words. This indicates that they are the most
used words. The words are a good representation of the reoccurring
themes and concepts in our focus group.
